What types of meet up events do you run?
We are just getting started, and getting a sense of people’s interest in topics and capacity to participate.
We are aiming to start with some online meetings to identify who is interested and what formats will work, but would also hope to offer in-person opportunities to connect, at least in Scotland (where we are based), if people would be up for that.
We hope to get started with some neurodiverse speakers who are willing to share their own journeys and a free bite-sized introduction to an area of their own expertise (on topics like finance, marketing, law, creative arts).
We want to run inclusive meetings so people are welcome to participate with or without video and are welcome to just log on and listen, if that is most comfortable.
Do I have to be neurodivergent to join the network?
The network is by and for people who are neurodiverse, so we would want the majority of people participating, and certainly the majority of network organisers to be themselves neurodiverse. But if you are a neurotypical person who works with, or supports, the neurodiverse community, and sees the value in spending time learning and contributing to our network, you are also welcome to join us.

How do you define neurodiversity?
We define neurodiversity to include ASD (autism spectrum disorder), ADHD, as well as dyslexia and dyspraxia. We believe that neurodiverse thinking is different to, but not lesser than, neurotypical thinking – despite many people’s experiences to the contrary, especially in education and work settings.
We do not believe you need a diagnosis to identify as neurodiverse, and we are more interested in who you are, what you’re struggling with (or have struggled with) and how we can collectively influence positive change for other neurodiverse leaders and aspiring leaders.
