Who we are
DiffandNet is network for neurodiverse leaders and businesses.  We were established to help neurodiverse people and businesses connect, learn and grow together.  We want to build a vision of what success looks like for neurodiverse people, and we want that effort to be led by us.

The type of personal information we collect 
We collect and use personal data about our network members, as well as people who sign up for our mailing lists and to attend our events. 
This may include:

  • Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details)
  • Special category data (for example, concerning health if you choose to disclose a diagnosis or disability to us)
  • Website and social media user analytical data, including cookies that track your access and use of our website

How we get the personal information and why we have it
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • To access information from our website or through social media
  • By signing up to our network or our mailing list
  • By making an enquiry about our network

We use the information that you have given us in order to build our network and mailing list, run our events, respond to enquiries and comply with legislation that regulates our work. 
We may also share this information with third parties software companies who provide services to us, but who do not use this data for their own purposes (for example, Zoom or OctopusMail).
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful basis we rely on for processing this information is your consent.

How we store your personal information 
Your information is securely stored on our cloud-based servers.
We have contracts with these providers to ensure that the data is secure and that it will not be used by them for their own purposes.
We have procedures to deal with any suspected data security breach and will notify you and the ICO of a suspected breach where data protection legislation requires us to do so.
We keep personal data for as long as it is necessary for our requirements, including the contractual and regulatory requirements placed upon our business. After this time we will delete the data securely or anonymise it. 

Your data protection rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. 
Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete. 
Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances. 
Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances. 
Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
